Apothecary Shop Changes Ownership
(Neenah, Wis.) - The Apothecary Shop, established in 1975 in Chilton, has been purchased by Morton Pharmacy, the twelfth retail pharmacy to join the independent locally-owned regional pharmacy group based in Neenah. Steve Morton, Morton Pharmacy CEO, expects to make very few changes to the pharmacy’s operations. The previous owner, Tricia Ronk, R.Ph., will remain the chief pharmacist, and she will continue to be supported by the same store staff. Ronk’s father, Richard Bosshardt, R.Ph., will keep limited hours in the pharmacy. Hours of operation remain Monday-Friday 9-6 and Saturday 9-2. Steve Morton, a member of the third generation of the Morton family to own and operate Morton Pharmacy, said, "Our goal is to keep the independent pharmacy in Chilton independent."

Charles Morton opened the doors to the first Morton Pharmacy in downtown Neenah in 1932 with a $600 investment. That first storefront shop has since has grown to 12 retail pharmacies throughout the Fox Valley and Oshkosh regions. The newest retail pharmacy opened in Greenville in September 2006; the most recent acquisition, The Apothecary Shop in Chilton in August 2007. A closed-shop pharmacy is entirely dedicated to serving the needs of 2500 patients in long-term care facilities. Morton offers its customers several distinctive personal services, including prescription bubble packaging, home delivery, prescription flavoring and specialized prescription compounding.
